Debra Bishop

deb-bishop-photoRemodeling your home or office space can be both exciting and stressful. Debra Bishop’s goal at Dwell on It, LLC, is to help you enjoy the excitement of your remodeling project while eliminating the associated stress. Debra can supply design, planning, materials, and scheduling advice, put together a team of highly skilled professionals that will get your job done, and/or oversee your project from its initial design and planning stages through construction and completion. Whether your project involves traditional, transitional, or contemporary design, and whether it is for a kitchen, bathroom, mudroom, or office space, Debra can create what you need.

Twenty-five years in the residential remodeling business in the Greater Boston area have given Debra the experience and connections that will help you meet your project goals. Her professional background ranges from specialization with product-only companies such as House of Cabinets in Bedford to extended tenures at several full-service design and remodeling firms. Each move in Debra’s career was specifically designed to give her in-depth experience in a new aspect of remodeling, from lumber to contracting, and from project management to appliances and cabinetry. In 2001 she started her own business, Dwell on It, LLC, so that she could combine her skills and work directly with her own clientele.

Because being educated in her field is one of Debra’s priorities, she is a Certified Kitchen Designer, a Certified Bath Designer, and a Universal Design Certified Professional. She constantly maintains and updates her credentials while mentoring young designers who are new to remodeling. She also contributes to her profession by volunteering time to the National Association of the Remodeling Industry (NARI), which awarded her with a Contractor of the Year Award in 2012 for one of her completed kitchen projects. Debra is a Board member of the local chapter of the National Kitchen & Bath Association (NKBA) and attends monthly seminars at the Boston Design Center (BDC).

In addition to her passion for the remodeling industry and her ability to visualize projects, render plans, put together excellent construction teams, and use her connections to obtain the best materials at a good value, Debra’s clients appreciate her love for New England and for the homes and spaces she helps them to renovate.

I love getting up in the morning with the anticipation of meeting new people and seeing new properties,” she says. “I wouldn’t want to live anywhere but New England, with its rich variety of architectural styles and construction methods.”
